Parent’s Newsletter – February 2021

Parent’s Newsletter – February 2021

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We have been busy preparing for an exciting month revolving around dental health, Hearts & Hugs, Presidents, and a classroom choice theme. The letters of the month will be P, Q, R, along with the numbers 13&14.

February is Dental Health Month. This is an excellent time to brush up on good dental health habits. On Friday, the 12th, we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. Each class will celebrate by playing games and enjoying Valentine’s snacks.

We would like to welcome Lauren Mechler to our TLC family. She will be joining Stef if Tiny Tots. We are also happy to have Ashley Horrigan back to Small Fries. We missed her terribly. She has moved back from Florida, where she works with infants/toddlers. We are so happy to have you with us. Michaela will join Little Rascals as Mckay will be returning to college in early March. We are confident this will be a smooth transition, and we are lucky to have these great educators.

Re-registration

TLC will be having its annual re-registration starting at the end of next month. Your packets will be emailed to you. Please go over your paperwork thoroughly and fill out all sections. Everything in your child’s file needs to be updated annually. This registration process renews their spot for September. TLC is a yearly program. Your child’s spot continues through the summer. If you need to change your regular days for the upcoming school year, please note it on your form, and we will do our best to accommodate these requests. Please also note any other changes you will have before the start of the school year. If you have any questions, please see Jen or Melissa. All registrations are due April 23.

Evaluations

When you receive your child’s evaluation, please read them over, sign, and return them as soon as possible. Please feel free to speak with the child’s educator if you have any questions or concerns or would like to set up a conference.

Tuition payment

Please remember that the monthly tuition payment is due on the 29th of each month. Weekly payments are due on Thursday for the following week. We appreciate you getting your payments in on time. Please have them on time to avoid late fees.

Parent Parking lot drop off and pick up

Please take care while driving through the parking lot. We have noticed some cars going a little too fast. Small children are everywhere; please use caution. Please remember our COVID-19 guidelines and adhere to your drop off and pick up times. By keeping your times, we should not have back-ups in the PU/DO areas. If another family is still at the entrance, please wait outside for your turn. We appreciate your help with this.

Dates to remember

  • 2/12/21 Valentine’s day party
  • 2/15/21 TLC closed for President’s day
  • 2/16/21-2/21/21February school vacation week

Clubhouse Green

Hello all! We had a great January learning all about the continents and exploring different cultures. We made African pianos, which were super unique and fun! (Sorry if they brought those home and drove you a little crazy) The clubhouse has been enjoying the snow we have had so far but hoping for a little more so we can keep on sledding. Everyone enjoys getting fresh air; please remember to bring in your snow gear. We are eager to start February and have already begun to make Valentine’s day cards for our veterans. With February comes chocolate, and who does not love chocolate, so bring it on! We will also focus on good dental health, so we take care of our teeth while having all these sweets.

Our February themes consist of:

Little Rascals

The Little Rascals had a great time learning about winter and hibernation. We also explored the wonderful world of fairy tales. We will begin February by exploring cultures and traditions from around the world.

The classroom will be transformed into a celebration of love and life as we decorate for Valentine’s Day. A class list will be sent home for cards. If you are sending them in please include everyone. You can either write each child’s name or to my friend.

We will wrap up the month by learning all about the Presidents and dental health.

Please make sure your child has a water bottle as well as labeled weather-appropriate outerwear every day. We would appreciate it if you could also check your child’s extra clothes to ensure they still fit.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to come to us.

Thank you,
Christine and MacKay

Small Fries

Happy 2021! I hope everyone’s new year is off to a great start. February was a fun-filled month here in small fries. We learned all about arctic animals, made some fun fairy tail crafts, and did lots of playing and exploring. This month we celebrated with Gabby and Olivia as they turned two!

We have been trying to get outside at least once a day, so please continue to send your children in with winter clothing every day. On snowy days, the kids love jumping in the snow and throwing “snowballs” at each other. Please feel free to bring slippers in for your child to wear in the classroom on wet days. Please also keep in mind that lunch and both morning and afternoon snacks are provided from home, so pack as much food as your child will need for the whole day.

The month of February has so much in store for us! Ashley has decided to come back to us. She will slowly be re joining our classroom in the next coming weeks! Logan and Alana will be celebrating their second birthdays with us. We will be having a class Valentine’s day party on Friday, February 12. So much to look forward to this month. Progress reports will be handed out within the next two weeks, so keep an eye out for those.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns,

 Sam

Happy February, everyone! This month the Tiny Tots will be busy learning fun Valentine songs and decorating the classroom full of hearts and cheerful artwork. We will have a small party on the 12th with some dancing, crafting, and snacking. If you would like to bring a small snack or treat to share, just let Stefanie know what you plan to send. For dental health month, we will read books about animal’s teeth and our own and try using our brushing skills to create some fun paintings.

Happy Birthday to JJ, who is turning 1 this month!!

Thank you for continuing to send warm weather outdoor gear, and please remember to keep plenty of spare clothes sent each day or in your child’s cubby/bag.

October Newsletter from TLC

We have successfully made it through the first month of our school year. It is a wonderful sight to see all of the children settling into their routines, meeting new friends, and enjoying their activity centers.

Our curriculum themes for this month are:

  1. Weather all around us
  2. Fire safety
  3. Night creatures
  4. And Halloween

Each classroom will also touch upon Halloween safety. Our Clubhouse will be diligently working on their Halloween haunted trail, which will take place October 31st, along with our Halloween celebration. Please do not have your child wear their costumes to TLC, so they do not get ruined before the big night.

** We would like to remind parents to take extra precaution while crossing through the parking lot. Children should be with an adult at all times. We need to stress the importance of protecting our children’s safety. Please remember to care not to let your children stand in front of the front door as people are exiting.

Please take a few moments to read our bulletin boards located in the front entrance. We often have sign up sheets for upcoming events such as karate, parties, fundraisers etc.

Lastly, please remember to update your child’s clothing with weather appropriate gear and LABEL them. That is our biggest ask of you!

Thank you,

TLC
