SMALL FRIES

Hello parents! We hope everyone had an amazing Easter! Thank you to our families that stayed and had breakfast with us at our parent breakfast. It was an amazing turn out this year. Another thank you to everyone for the caring sentiments shown on teacher appreciation day, it truly means the world. This month we learned all about our earth and how to take care of it. We also learned about the weather. We sang a few new songs about rain and sunshine.

This month with the warm weather ahead please switch out all clothing and start fresh with new changes of clothing. Please also remember to bring a new set when your child has used all their spares. You will soon be receiving a permission slip for sunscreen / bug spray. You have an option to pay for TLC to apply our sunscreen and bug spray or you can bring in you preferred kind and we will apply it in the morning before we go outside and reapply in the afternoon. Feel free to bring hats and anything else you think your child might need to be protected from the sun.

We are SO excited to celebrate with Jack and Elodie this month as they turn 2!! We have many fun-filled projects and activities planned for this month and we cannot wait to share them with you! As always please come to Liz or me with any questions or concerns.

This month’s themes:

  • Cinco de Mayo
  • Mother’s Day / mommy & me
  • Transportation / my town
  • Art appreciation

Thanks,

Sam and Liz

CLUBHOUSE

Dear Clubhouse Parents,

Rain, rain—oh how we wish you’d go away! These past few weeks have certainly been on the wetter side of things but that fits perfectly with our week of Weather and Rainbows. The kids crafted up a storm of rain-inspired paintings using dyed water, eye droppers, and an easel out on the playground. Ironically, it started to pour mere moments after the last project was finished. On days we were stuck inside, we had the chance to learn about weather patterns, collaborate on a giant rain cloud, and watch the weather unfold. This teamwork carried over into the middle of the month when everyone helped create marathon banners for our town’s favorite event as well as the lengthy process of growing crystals…and that was just the first half of April.

As Hippity Hoppity Bunnies week hopped into sight, you may have taken home a beautifully colored-in egg drawing, seen a vibrant chalk-outlined bunny, or heard about the Clubhouse-wide Easter egg hunt, complete with a special springtime surprise. We truly hope everyone had a lovely Easter or Passover celebration spent with family and friends. To conclude this transitory month, we celebrate Earth Day and Gardening, a week dedicated to the one and only planet Earth. Whether it be tulips made from plastic forks or learning about reducing, reusing, and recycling, Clubhouse is sure to end on a green note before heading into the month of what we believe should be a federally recognized holiday: Mother’s Day.

Until next time,

Mr. Aren Arakelian, Miss. Kassidy Griffiths, and the Teachers of Clubhouse

LITTLE RASCALS

We hope everyone had a great Easter filled with family, fun and a visit from a very special bunny. The Little Rascals have been enjoying the warm days as they come.  We are looking forward to many more.

We had a great month of April learning all about Spring, weather and Earth day.  Our favorite part of the month was the week of the young child.  We had a wonderful time working together, choosing new books and having our parents join us for breakfast.  Thank you to all of you who participated.

This month we will be exploring Cinco de Mayo, transportation and art appreciation.  May will also be about celebrating our mommies.  We will be working on special surprises so mums the word. We have also begun graduation practice so don’t be surprised if your children are singing new songs.

Please make sure that your child has labeled, weather-appropriate outerwear and spare clothes.  Each child also needs a water bottle daily. Hopefully, the snow is done for the season, please be sure to bring the winter gear home.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to come to speak to us about them.

Thank you,

Christine and Gabby

As April leaves us with some showers, May is sure to bring us some flowers. But before we go and say our goodbyes, let’s reminisce on some things Clubhouse kids did. Clubhouse kids learned about gardening and the essentials and necessities you need to plant flowers and what they need to grow and survive. The kids also learned about the weather and reptiles. We celebrated The Week of the Young child and ended the week with a Parent Breakfast. We thank all of those who came and joined us for the breakfast. Clubhouse kids are also anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby chickens.

Our themes for next month are:

  • Mother’s Day
  • Farm/Zoo Animals
  • Jungle/Rainforest
  • Transportation

Please remember, the weather is still cool outs did and children still need a light jacket and the proper clothing attire for outside. Please also provide your child with a water bottle. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mother’s and Happy Spring!
